RFK Racing will bring four cars to the 68th running of the Daytona 500 in February. Alongside the charted entries of Chris Buescher (No. 17), Ryan Preece (No. 60), and team co-owner Brad Keselowski (No. 6), the team will add an additional open entry.

Corey LaJoie will drive the No. 99 Ford Mustang and will attempt to qualify for NASCAR’s biggest race. While that car number was utilized by Trackhouse and Daniel Suarez between 2021 and 2025, the No. 99 has a deep history with the Roush team.

The last driver to use the No. 99 with Roush was Ryan Reed in a one-off start during the 2016 season. However, Carl Edwards and Jeff Burton were the drivers who used the number the longest while at Roush, winning a combined 40 races while piloting the No. 99.

As for LaJoie, he has nine previous starts in the Daytona 500, finishing as high as fourth in 2024. He was also running inside the top five in last year’s race before getting collected in a last-lap pileup. He was already named as the substitute driver for the No. 6 RFK Racing entry in the Clash at Bowman Gray while Brad Keselowski recovers from a leg injury.

“From a competition standpoint, having a fourth car gives us and Ford Racing a better chance to win the Daytona 500,” said Keselowski, RFK Racing driver and co-owner. “It’s not just about adding another entry. Superspeedway racing is about cooperation and having an additional car allows us to be more effective in forming drafting alliances, controlling lanes, and putting ourselves in position when it matters most.”

RFK Racing hasn’t had four cars take part in the 500 since 2012, which the team ultimately won with Matt Kenseth.

If LaJoie manages to make the race against an impressive field of open entries, it will be his 277th career start at the Cup level.

“This is a dream come true to get an opportunity with RFK Racing at the Daytona 500,” said Lajoie. “This is without a doubt, the best car and opportunity I’ve had at Daytona. I’m grateful for the trust they’ve placed in me.”

Trimble will serve as the primary sponsor for LaJoie and the No. 99 Ford at Daytona.
